On June 2, 2023, we held the Premiere of our latest project – an electric car with autonomous driving systems RT13e. This is a very important event for our Team, which invariably has been organized by us for many years. We are very pleased that the invited guests turned up in such large numbers. In addition to the presentation of the RT13e car, the Leaders summarized the work of their Departments, and the Technical Leader presented the overall concept for our project. The Team Leader and the Marketing Leader talked about the goals for this season. After the official part, our guests were able to see the car up close and talk about its details with the designers.
The RT13e features an innovative aerodynamic package with a variable geometry front wing and revised side sections, allowing for better balance of the car and greater control of airflow, as well as adequate cooling of the battery and engines. The proprietary design of the steering gear has increased the steering range and improved the car’s ability to negotiate tight turns. In addition, it was possible to reduce the weight of the steering column. The weight of the battery pack has also been significantly reduced, which is as much as 15 kilograms lighter than last season. The vehicle has proprietary electric motors mounted directly in the wheels and high- and low-voltage wiring harnesses made by Team members.
This year’s Premiere was special for us, as it was the first such event for many members. One of the biggest challenges of the season was building the Team and recruiting students who would become the constructors of the Formula Student class car in a very short period of time. Training more than half of our current team was quite a challenge.
We are already looking forward to going to the competition, which is fast approaching. This season we will electrically start in Italy, the Czech Republic, and for the first time in the history of Formula Student – Poland. On the other hand, we will compete at the Hungaroring in the Driverless category. Altogether, this gives us two months of intense work, which will be the perfect culmination of the season. Keep your fingers crossed for us and for the RT13e, which will soon leave for foreign tracks!
